Shelly Gaza | ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR
In addition to being Deputy Director and co-founder of Statera, Shelly is the Assistant School Director and an Associate Professor of Theatre in the School of Theatre Arts and Dance at the University of Northern Colorado. She has an MFA from Wayne State University, a BFA from Millikin University, and a Certificate in Acting from the Moscow Art Theatre School in Russia. Shelly is a member of Voice and Speech Trainers Association and Actors’ Equity Association.
Regional acting credits include the Utah, Alabama, and Colorado Shakespeare Festivals, Paragon Theatre (Denver), Talisman Theatre (Chicago), The JET and Hilberry Repertory Theatres (Detroit), and The Little Theatre of the Rockies in Colorado. Shelly has also performed with the Colorado Symphony and Greeley Philharmonic Orchestras (in A Midsummer Night’s Dream) and done film, television and radio work.
Directing credits include Minnesota State University Moorhead, the University of Northern Colorado, Backstage Theatre in Breckenridge, CO and The Taming of the Shrew for the Utah Shakespeare Festival’s 2014 Shakespeare in the Schools tour. Shelly has also served as the Speech and Dialect Coach for the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities.
Shelly currently lives in Greeley, CO with her husband and two children.
